My name is Bernhard Scudlik, I am a 51 year-old german and have been living in Spain since 2001. I have 18 years of professional real-estate experience which I gained at several building companies and real-estate agencies. Notes on purchasing a Spanish property

In the Spanish property market, buyers can generally expect to pay a further 10% on top of the asking price of a property. This covers, among other things:

• Value Added Tax (VAT);
• legal, title deed and land registration fees;
• translation fees;
• building and valuation survey fees;
• mortgage arrangement fees; and
• utility provider fees.

We will assist you fully at all stages of the buying process. Once you have purchased a Dovil property, we will even reimburse an overnight stay for two persons in a hotel of our choice for the evening prior to the appointment with the notary public.
